The Chilliwack Students' Garden Program is a unique approach to involving kids in agriculture. Founded in 1904, we’ve been in operation continuously for 120 years! This heritage program is volunteer-run and operates with support from community donations.
Our program is open to any Chilliwack school student (public, independent and home-School) from grades K through 12. This program is a fun and exciting adventure that supports kids through the steps of planting, maintaining and harvesting a garden right on their own balcony or in their backyard!
This annual program, designed to encourage students to take up gardening, has 200+ student gardeners entered each year. The program is offered at a minimal $5.00 entry fee, to help offset some of our costs (seeds, printing, and prizes). This program is partially funded by local businesses, and we greatly appreciate this support.
​When our gardening judges stop by your home, they will be happy to answer questions and provide pointers. These garden lovers thrive on guiding learners through the process of soil preparation, planting, and tending to gardens in containers or plots.
